Operating System

An operating system  is a collection of software that manages computer hardware resources and provides common services for computer programs. The operating system is a vital component of the system software in a computer system. Application programs require an operating system to function.


Applications Software

Application software is computer software designed to help the user to perform specific tasks. Examples include enterprise software, accounting software, office suites, graphics software and media players. Many application programs deal principally with documents. Apps may be bundled with the computer and its system software, or may be published separately.
Enterprise software is software used in organizations such as a business or government.
Accounting software is application software that records and processes accounting transactions.
Office software is application software used for work such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Graphics software graphics software or image editing software is a program or collection of programs that enable a person to manipulate visual images on a computer. An example is Adobe Photoshop.
Media software are application software that lets you view images, watch video and listen to or edit audio. Examples are YouTube, Adobe Illustrator and Audacity.

Anti Virus Software

Anti-virus software is software used to prevent, detect and remove malware such as computer viruses, adware, backdoors, malicious BHOs, dialers, fraudtools, hijackers, keyloggers, malicious LSPs, rootkits, spyware, trojan horses and worms.

 

 

 

 

Firewall

A firewall can either be software-based or hardware-based and is used to help keep a network secure. Its primary objective is to control the incoming and outgoing network traffic by analyzing the data packets and determining whether it should be allowed through or not, based on a predetermined rule set.
